Job Title: Avionics Technician
Job DescriptionAs an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical systems on aircraft, focusing primarily on Garmin and some Honeywell systems. Your role includes testing, modifying, upgrading, repairing, and inspecting all avionics and electrical systems on the aircraft. You will complete assigned tasks within allocated man-hour budgets, ensuring quality standards and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and follow complex wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Perform wire-by-wire, power, functional, and operational checkouts of electrical and avionics systems prior to aircraft flight.
- Set up electrical and electronic test equipment in compliance with technical data and conduct appropriate functional tests.
- Connect air data test set to aircraft fixtures and complete a full functional checkout of the pitot/static air data system.
- Troubleshoot and correct discrepant systems.
- Perform soldering applications in various positions.
Essential Skills- Proficiency in troubleshooting various electrical systems.
- Experience with Garmin systems is highly preferred; Honeywell experience is also acceptable.
- Ability to articulate manufacturers of systems worked on, such as Garmin and Honeywell.
- Proficient in function testing, troubleshooting, and repairing basic aircraft electrical systems and avionics systems (all models).
- Checkout experience.
- Competence with pitot-static checks is a must.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with RVSM and 94-411 checks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience installing, modifying, or troubleshooting Garmin systems.
- Knowledge of older navigation and electrical systems.

Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. You will be part of a team led by a supervisor and four technicians, within a maintenance department consisting of approximately 30 people, including mechanics and interior specialists. The work package is distributed by the lead after being quoted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $48.00/hr.
