Responsibilities:
Train internal personnel on the operation, repair, and maintenance of below-the-hook lifting equipment and test systems (e.g., scales and weights).
Interpret operational manuals and tooling drawings to ensure correct and safe use of lifting and test equipment.
Evaluate below-the-hook equipment needs from internal customers and compare against vendor specifications and capabilities.
Verify structural integrity of new, repaired, or modified lifting devices to meet regulatory and safety standards.
Mentor junior Proofload Technicians in proper proof load testing and safety practices.
Execute scheduled proof-load tests using calibrated weights, scales, and rigging equipment according to standard procedures.
Perform pre- and post-test inspections to assess condition and functionality of equipment.
Document test results and inspections in compliance with procedures and ensure data is accurately entered into appropriate databases.
Use software tools (e.g., MES, CMES, Maximo/CRPMS, Cribmaster) to manage test results, work orders, and inspection records.
Recommend improvements to proof-load testing processes and procedures to enhance safety, reduce downtime, and ensure regulatory alignment.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of mechanical or tool maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
Mechanical aptitude with tool maintenance and lifting equipment.
Familiarity with test equipment such as scales, weights, and rigging gear.
Ability to read tooling drawings and technical manuals.
Competence in proof-load testing procedures and integrity assessments.
Systems Knowledge: Experience using MES, CMES, Maximo/CRPMS, Cribmaster, or similar systems.
Work Conditions: On-site work with occasional travel required depending on test locations or equipment needs.
