Job Title: Part-Time Passenger Service Agent
Job DescriptionThis part-time Passenger Service Agent role provides front-line customer service to airline passengers at Dulles Airport. You greet travelers, assist at the ticket counter, and support a smooth check-in and boarding experience. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with the public in a fast-paced, international airport environment and who can consistently deliver professional, courteous service.
Responsibilities
- Greet passengers warmly as they arrive at the airport and provide clear directions and assistance.
- Support ticket counter operations, including check-in, ticketing, and basic reservation-related tasks using computer systems.
- Assist passengers with baggage check-in and ensure compliance with baggage requirements and policies.
- Verify travel documents such as passports and other required identification, paying close attention to detail.
- Provide accurate information about flights, procedures, and airport services to passengers in a professional manner.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to a diverse population of travelers, addressing questions and resolving basic issues.
- Use computer and typing skills to enter and update passenger information quickly and accurately.
- Handle occasional lifting and movement of luggage weighing up to 50 pounds when needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform consistently while on duty.
- Arrive punctually, ensuring you are at the off-site parking location and at your position at the terminal in time for each shift.
- Collaborate with other airport and airline staff to support efficient passenger flow and an excellent travel experience.
Essential Skills- Strong customer service experience, ideally in a face-to-face, service-focused role.
- Proficiency with computers and strong typing skills to handle check-in and ticketing systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with passengers and colleagues.
- Capability to lift and handle luggage up to 50 pounds when required.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an airport SIDA badge in accordance with airport security requirements.
- High level of punctuality and reliability, including arriving early enough to account for off-site parking and shuttle time.
- Comfort working with a diverse population of passengers from various backgrounds and cultures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Previous airport or airline experience is a plus.
- Experience as a passenger service agent, ticket counter agent, or in a similar travel-related position is beneficial.
- International travel experience is a strong plus, including familiarity with baggage requirements and passport needs.
- Background in retail or retail customer service is advantageous for handling high-volume customer interactions.
- Sales or customer-focused service experience is helpful in engaging with passengers and resolving issues.
- Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional in a busy, time-sensitive environment.

Work Environment
You work on-site at Dulles Airport, primarily at the check-in and ticket counters in a busy terminal setting. The pace is fast and requires standing for extended periods while assisting passengers. This is a part-time position, generally offering 20–25 hours per week, with the option to work up to approximately 30 hours during peak summer months if additional shifts are available and you wish to take them. Parking is located off-site, and you must plan to arrive at the parking lot about 45 minutes before your shift to allow time for the shuttle ride—approximately 30 minutes—to the terminal. The role involves regular use of computer systems and keyboards for check-in and ticketing tasks, as well as occasional lifting of luggage up to 50 pounds. The dress code requires a professional appearance: a black suit jacket and slacks, a white button-up shirt, and navy matte leather shoes without embellishments such as buckles or buttons. You will initially supply this uniform until you receive tailored airline-branded uniforms. The environment is highly customer-facing and diverse, requiring consistent professionalism, courtesy, and punctuality.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
