This position is responsible and accountable for all import, export and Customs transactions.
The Import-Export-Customs (IEC) Administrator is responsible for the timely and cost-effective transport of spare parts primarily from Bell Textron Inc., Able Engineering and Bell Piney Flats to Bell Textron Supply Center (BTSC) and the same from the BTSC to the ultimate customer.
A free warehouse is maintained to accommodate the goods that are in free circulation within the European Union. Incumbents in the IEC department report to the Logistics Manager and maintain a solid administration of import, stocking and export transactions by means of various automated systems. Compliance to Customs permits, internal procedures and business standards is evident.
This position is responsible for assuring proper Customs documentation for import and export shipments. Improper documentation will result in Customs fines, so consequent accuracy is most important.
This position is responsible for timely and correct reporting of Customs transactions to the appropriate Customs departments and/or other parties concerned. This position maintains a professional relationship with Customs officers to warrant undisrupted operations.
This position is responsible to maintain a professional relationship with freight forwarders and integrators and stays informed on current events in the freight forwarding industry.
This position is responsible to maintain a specific set of statistics and reports these to the Logistics and General Manager on a regular basis.
• Reports directly to the Logistics Manager;
• Coordinates with all functional areas in the Supply Center to assure accurate and timely process of incoming and outgoing shipments in accordance with Customs and Compliance regulations;
• Coordinates with the traffic departments of Bell and other freight forwarders for import and export shipments;
• Communicates with Customs Authorities on issues regarding the reporting, (change in) permits, audits and all other matters;
• Contacts with the Chamber of Commerce and Embassies/Consulates on legalisation and certification issues;
• Coordinates with third parties for packing and documentation regarding the transport of hazardous material;
