JOB TITLE: Fleet Planner

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: SOC MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY:

As Fleet Planner, you will play a crucial role in developing the next days flight schedule. You will manage scheduling and communication, prioritizing safety in all scheduling tasks. Responsible for creating and optimizing the next days flight schedule, ensuring efficient aircraft utilization and compliance with regulatory requirements, while adapting to real-time changes and coordinating with various stakeholders to deliver timely and reliable air service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:

  • Analyze flight demand forecasts, crew availability, maintenance schedules, and airport constraints to build a comprehensive and robust next-day flight plan.
  • Optimize flight routes and timings to maximize aircraft utilization and minimize delays.
  • Allocate aircraft to specific routes considering capacity needs and operational efficiency.
  • Incorporate last-minute adjustments and cancellations into the schedule as necessary.
  • Collaborate with all internal departments to ensure smooth execution of the schedule.
  • Address operational issues and coordinate solutions with stakeholders to minimize disruption.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Director.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Aviation, Logistics, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous related experience either in a Scheduling or Planning environment at a 135 or 121 airline operation; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in a fast paced, dynamic work environment and the ability to multi-task are crucial to this position.
  • Thorough knowledge of FARs in regard to Part 91, 135 or 121 airline operations.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft software applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Aviation weather and NOTAMs
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage, make decisions, with multiple competing variables and priorities

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Miscellaneous Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Computer, office equipment, phone skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays.
  • Ability to pass 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen as required by company and/or airline regulations.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.
