Akima Intra-Data is hiring an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support operations at Arnold Air Force Base. This role involves conducting audits, analyzing environmental data, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, NEPA, and Title V permitting requirements. The specialist will also prepare regulatory reports and site-specific compliance plans through technical writing and data interpretation. Responsibilities include coordinating sampling programs, data analysis, and communicating findings to stakeholders. Strong knowledge of environmental science, regulatory standards, and expertise in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, & Adobe is essential. Candidates must possess excellent analytical, communication, and technical writing skills, and will serve on cross-functional teams to support environmental initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine environmental audits, field inspections, and compliance assessments to identify and resolve issues.
- Track and analyze operational data, laboratory results, and regulatory trends to identify trends and ensure ongoing environmental compliance.
- Prepare technical reports, regulatory submissions, and site-specific compliance plans using clear and accurate technical writing.
- Coordinate environmental sampling programs and assist with water, air, and waste data tracking and interpretation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and safety, to support sustainable practices and corrective actions.
- Review inspection reports and regulatory correspondence; collaborate with operations staff to address deficiencies and implement corrective measures.
- Assist in developing and maintaining environmental management system (EMS) documentation and procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., RCRA, NEPA, CAA, CWA, Title V) and assess their applicability to base operations.
- Support internal and external communications with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and customer on environmental issues and findings.
- Assist in the development and review of public notices, permit applications, and regulatory response documents.
- Monitor and document corrective actions taken in response to compliance concerns or environmental incidents.
Qualifications
- US. citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related science field.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, data analysis tools, and technical writing.
- Proven organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualification:
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
- Existing secret security clearance
