Summary
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with at least 5 years of experience in both Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Microsoft SQL Server. This role offers a unique opportunity to join an established Oracle-focused team and expand its capabilities by integrating SQL Server expertise.
The DBA will support Oracle EBS instances and SQL Server databases across U.S. manufacturing plants, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability. Responsibilities include performance tuning, capacity planning, backups, recovery, monitoring, patching, and upgrades. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in both Oracle and SQL Server, an understanding of enterprise applications, and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities and Duties
Oracle Administration:
• Administer Oracle EBS environments, including Oracle E-Business Suite 11i and R12 with database versions 11g and 12c on Linux.
• Deploy code and configuration changes to production environments.
• Refresh non-production environments from production as needed.
• Perform database backups/restores using RMAN and collaborate with the infrastructure team on disaster recovery testing.
• Utilize tools such as Linux scripting, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), and Toad to manage and optimize operations.
• Administer Oracle APEX applications.
• Support standalone Oracle database, Oracle Forms and Reports, in Windows environment (custom application).
SQL Server Administration:
• Bring SQL Server expertise to an Oracle-focused team, expanding the group’s capabilities.
• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure availability, performance, and security.
• Perform SQL Server backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
• Apply patches and perform upgrades to ensure system security and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SQL Server support into existing processes.
General:
• Provide scheduled and emergency off-hours support as required.
• Ensure timely resolution of assigned tickets and requests.
• Continuously improve processes and contribute to best practices.
• Maintain and update documentation for standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred; DBA certification or equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience in Oracle EBS (11i, R12).
• 5+ years of SQL Server administration experience.
• Proficiency in Linux (Red Hat) and Windows Server environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with peers and stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
