This position is based at our Operations Center located in Dallas, TX and the company prefers successful candidates to have PBI as their domicile.
JOB TITLE: Crew Planner DEPARTMENT: Operations FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Crew Planning Manager
Overview: The Crew Planner is responsible for the effective utilization of crew resources and developing long-range staffing plans in compliance with company policies and FAA regulations. Work closely with internal departments regarding staffing plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and release 30-day crew bid plans for pilots.
- Plan crew bid to accommodate training and vacation bid.
- Monitor and adjust crewmembers schedules due to program movement to ensure adequate staffing and effective crew utilization.
- Analyze monthly crew bid against routes to proactively manage and change any short-term staffing deficits and any upcoming crew, aircraft, or route expansions.
- Work closely with the crew training department.
- Coordinate implementation of crew bid.
- Research and resolve conflicts regarding crew schedules.
- Responsible for maintaining and submitting accurate Pilot Hours and Crew Incentive report for crew payroll reporting to HR. This includes paid time off, overtime and per diem reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Director.
Qualifications:
- Required two years related experience either in a Scheduling or Planning environment at a 135 or 121 airline operation: equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of FARs in regard to Part 91, 135 or 121 airline operations.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations regarding crew duty time, rest periods, and qualifications.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft software applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Outlook).
- Must have excellent analytical skills and strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Exceptional attention to detail with organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior planning experience preferred.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen as required by airline regulations and company policies.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1968.
- Southern Airways participates in E-Verify.
- Fluency in English.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Computer, office equipment, phone skills.
- Ability to work within a 24/7 operation, including holidays.
- Must be able to meet all physical requirements related to aircraft weight limitations before and during employment.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position, with some on-call or irregular hours as needed to accommodate operational demands.
- This position may require occasional weekend or evening work to support the 24/7 nature of airline operations.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
