We’re hiring a Buyer Planner to help drive our continued success!
Purpose of the role:
MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Buyer Planner will ensure the timely acquisition of parts and materials needed to service customer aircraft by planning and forecasting part and material requirements and coordinating acquisition with internal and external suppliers and materials personnel.
Here are the daily responsibilities of a Buyer Planner:
- Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for materials, tools and components via communication with internal and external sources and suppliers.
- Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
- Provide information to adjust discrepant orders/exception messages and cancel line items not received or returned to stock as needed.
- Provider operations with alternate and/or superseded part numbers as needed.
- Partners with the EMX super user to create alternate parts numbers.
- Review predraw packages from Planning to determine the Material and Tooling requirements, quantities on hand and quantities needed.
- Track progress of outstanding parts for the aircraft and communicate updates daily to all stakeholders regarding material deliveries and shortages.
- Responsible for contacting suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries and other constraints.
- Responds to customer, operations, and supplier inquiries about order status, changes or cancellations.
- Monitor material shortage reports and ensure accurate need by dates.
- Provide turnover reports for oncoming shifts
- Attend daily materials department meetings and report status on outstanding materials.
Here is what is required to succeed:
- Typically, 3 years of experience in aviation or material/parts environment or other demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize and coordinate workload within a multiple project setting.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective working relationships with sales team, owners, outside counsel, and other departments.
- Typically, 1-year experience in inventory planning and procurement
- APICS certification (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business, Inventory Management or related area (preferred).
- Experience with Excel
